Cinematography Evaluation:
Using only visual
evidence in the provided sequence respond to the following:
What types of shots are used to convey the intended message in
this scene?
|
Medium shots and
long wide shots are all used to show action and violence. As well as high and
low shots which are used to show the
character who is high (in power) compared to the character who is low (not in
power).
|
How has framing been used to show or hide information to the
audience; refer to specific elements and information.
|
Framing has been
used to create the illusion of violence when in reality the characters aren’t
really punching or hitting each other. Framing has also been used to show
specific characters so whilst the camera is on that actor the other actors
aren’t actually in the shot.
|
Describe
how camera position has been used effectively? List some specific shots
|
Camera position
has been used effectively when they are punching each other, because in order
to make it look real the camera much position itself on a specific angle to
make it look like it is actually happening.
|
What
type of camera movement takes place and how does it enhance or detract from the
shot?
|
|
Does
the cinematographer make specific use of underexposure or overexposure to convey a message?
|
The
cinematographer uses underexposure and overexposure to set various moods. For example
underexposure would be used to create a dark, scary or mysterious scene.
